28 MarMy April plans

Wow, I’ve been so busy with the move and have hardly had any time to blog. Lesson learned: moving countries is a lot of work. I’ve been swamped with figuring out taxes/retirement plans, moving logistics, selling my stuff, cancelling all my services, spending more time with close friends, wrapping up things at Microsoft and in Seattle, and working on my travel plans in April.

April looks like it’s going to be a great month. Here goes:

April 2-6: Vegas. It’s Rohit’s bachelor party and we will get into a lot of trouble.

April 6->April 27: taking the VIA rail and travelling coast to coast across Canada. Starting in Vancouver and going as far east as I can, to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. I haven’t done much planning apart from picking up lonely planet Canada and finding out how the VIA works. I’m only planning my first 2-3 days and then will play the rest of the trip by ear.

I’m excited about this trip because I’ve always wanted to see all parts of Canada. Each province is so different and unique and has its own story to tell. Also, the long train rides will give me a lot of time to think about my business ideas.

April 28 – May 2: San Francisco to attend my first ever business conference: GreenNet 2010 and stay the weekend to hang out with Kevin and some friends in San Francisco.

This also means I might not be able to blog in April either. But I hope to have lots to share in May.

05 MarMy favourite spam mail of all time

So today I got my favourite junk mail of all time. It was from signed by FBI Director Robert Mueller on behalf of the FBI’sĀ Anti-Terrorist and International Fraud Division. Apparently the FBI is helping me transfer $800,000 to my bank account from some lottery I won outside the US.

All they want is for me to write a check of $500 to an obscure gentleman because of all the costs the FBI incurred while investigating this money transfer for me.

Man, that is so nice of the FBI.
