My name is Ahmed Badruddin and I am passionate about using technology to improve energy efficiency. I am the founder of Simpleafy, a SmartGrid software startup in Toronto.
I graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelors degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering. After graduation I worked for Microsoft as a software engineer in their headquarters in Redmond for 3.5 years before taking the leap into the startup world and founding Simpleafy. For more on my work, please visit my linked in profile. Aside from work, I enjoy travelling and my favourite city in the world is Berlin due to its rich history and unique architecture. I have served on the board of the Young Professionals International Network, a non-profit bringing together internationally-minded professionals by organizing interesting events. In my little free time, I play guitar, reminiscing about my short-lived musical career (3 live performances, each to a 150+ ppl audience).
